Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
Job Duties
Attend weekly management meetings.
Reconcile money from deposit drop bags.
Record bank deposit and take it to the bank daily.
Keep month-to-date running tallies of cash receipts, membership sales, juice bar and merchandise sales.
Keep petty cash drawer and petty cash checking account reconciled.
Code all petty cash receipts.
Submit petty cash expense sheet to Accounting department for petty cash reimbursement.
Handle accounts payable.
Make sure all invoices are matched up with packing invoices.
Make sure invoices are initialed by the manager.
Code all invoices and submit them to the Accounting department for payment.
Payroll
Total hours on time cards/computer clock in reports.
Submit payroll sheet to Accounting Department.
Coordinate with the manager to make sure all new employees complete pre-employment information and that the information gets to the Accounting Department.
Reconcile Daily Production Sheet daily with amount rung in the register.
Keep all filing current (invoices, payments, payroll, etc).
Back up all daily input on computer on discs and keep them in off-site storage.
Be responsible for keeping membership surveys entered in computer on weekly basis.
Handle accounts payable.
Keep track of all overdue and suspended memberships and post them to the comment section of the computer for viewing at inquiry screen at Front Desk.
Supervise the preparation and mailing of letters to overdue accounts and turn over to collection agency those accounts that are three months overdue.
Carry out month-end procedures as detailed in the computer procedures manual.
Experience and Educational Requirements
Majoring accounting prefered.
Familiar with Tax.
Have skill accounting software (zahir, accurate).
At least one year experience working as a bookkeeper required.
Skills Needed
